If you search the web information gathers on your machine that people can get access to and for purposes you do not authorize. They will at a minimum learn things about you that you would rather keep private. This will mostly concern things you have bought using the web and websites you have visited. To surf anonymously to protect your internet privacy you need to take precautions.

Most people do not want strangers getting their private information without consent on the Internet or not. And many people do not care to have their co-workers, friends or family members to know where they have been on the web. Fortunately, it is not very hard to guard your online privacy. You simply need to know how to do it.

People do not really understand what is at stake on the internet. Many believe their credit card information can be easily stolen when in fact this almost never happens. Banks have gone to extreme lengths to protect online purchases and credit card numbers. There are many other privacy issues people worry about when they should not because they can not happen. This misinformation keeps people from protecting their privacy regarding the real issues.

A small piece of code known as a cookie is left on your computer when you visit a website. This piece of code allows the website to identify your computer if you ever return to that website. The only thing the cookie can disclose is that you have been to that website. But the cookie can be used to determine all websites you have been to and any information you have entered at those websites.

Any data you input on a website or in web browser is stored in a cookie and can be seen by any other authorized website you might surf. Secure information, such as, credit card information is not kept in cookies. But any non-secure information may very well be kept in cookies and made available on the internet.

Websites can also use IP addresses to learn a little about you. Your IP address says a little about where you are, because it says from where you’re coming. But Internet addresses aren’t really used by websites, because they don’t usually convey much information beyond location.

Cookies are the main culprit when it comes to privacy on the internet. You can assume that your information is out there at all websites that you have visited. You can turn off your cookies if this bothers you but it will make surfing more difficult because you will need to manually input information each time you revisit a website.

Another concern for internet users is your web browser which stores a history of the Sites you have visited and makes access to that history easy. This may also give others easy access to your browsing history. Browsers also store information you type into web pages so that it will actually pop up when you visit that page. If you do not want others to see this information you need to turn this feature off or it can show your information unexpectedly. You can Surf Anonymously to protect your Internet Privacy by taking precautions.

Protect your online privacy by surfing the Internet anonymously using an Anonymous Proxy. Learn why you want to Hide IP addresses while you surf the Internet.

Using a different IP address has its benefits. For one, you do not have to expose your IP address which can be linked o your location or even identity. Secondly, with a mock IP address you can sometimes get details from a site that was not meant for your location. Lastly, of course, changing IP address can protect you against some kinds on online attacks. So how to change your IP Address?

IP Address is basically a logical address that is unique to every computer connected to the internet. The uniqueness is vital for any IP address as it helps identify the computer uniquely without which no communication is possible. The IP addresses are generally represented in dotted decimal format of A. B. C. D. The numbers A, B, C and D in the IP addresses are decimal integers ranging from 0 to 255.

When it comes to hiding the IP address there are two very popular solutions one is the CGI/Web proxy and the other is the Change IP proxy. In both the cases, the proxy is the first contact for the computer. This proxy manipulates the information exchange from the computer to hide the IP address.

The CGI/Web proxy is typically a dummy IP address which hosts the same content as the real IP Address. So if you want to access a particular server which is restricted in your organization, you would look for its web proxy. Since the proxy IP address is not restricted, you can get access to all the contents from the server through the proxy.

CGI proxies also allow the links from the main page to go over proxies. What this means is that if you click on any links on the restricted proxy web site, the further pages that open will also be opened through proxies. So the IP address automatically gets hidden through this solution. However, this solution only works on web browsers and not on all requests. For this you need a proxy server solution.

The proxy servers initially were used to allow fast browsing. These servers keep a cache of the recently visited web pages. As a result, if any other computer requests the same page, they can actually send a copy from the cache which is faster than the internet.

The other benefit of this server though is the ability to hide your IP address for all requests. The proxy server gets all the requests from the connected computers. If it can serve the request directly, it does so. If it cannot serve the request, then it changes the IP address in your request and forwards it to the Internet. Thus all computers on the Internet always get the incorrect IP of your machine.

There are many implementations of these proxy servers. The most advanced is the full anonymity solution. In this case, your IP address will be changed and other administrators and servers will not be able to detect that there is a proxy involved in between. The other solution is the transparent proxy which only changes the packets and does not mask the IP address.

Don’t wait! Find an IP Changer now to protect your Internet identity. Your safety on the Internet requires that you change it often.

The Internet has always been sacred ground to individuals who like to communicate with their friends and acquaintances in private. The vast quantity of information that is transmitted over the Internet every single day has always seemed like a fairly decent amount of protection for consumers who would like to keep their conversations from being intercepted by third parties. Most people have only feared the activities of hackers while conversing or exchanging information online. This is all changing today though. Governments are hoping to tap into these online communication channels. This Internet wiretapping will be the death of Internet privacy though.

Historically, the public has always known that someone might be listening to their conversations while they use telephones. The government has not really done a great job in hiding the fact that they monitor activity on landlines. Instead, public officials have always been rather brash with their promotion of wiretapping activities.

Most public officials have always state that the intrusion of privacy that results from wiretapping policies is done to protect citizens from the threats of enemies. These officials have also felt that no limitations can ever be placed on a program that is designed to better protect the citizens of the country too.

Even though these officials have almost always gotten their way when it comes to intruding on the privacy of citizens, they are now facing an issue they have never faced before. Today, due to the astonishing technical advances that have been developed in the communications industry, even the network providers themselves cannot access some of the information that is transmitted over their networks.

Some government officials are declaring that these limitations are unacceptable though, because they believe the enemy uses these networks to transmit vital information about their plots. For this reason, some government officials believe the companies that own these networks should have to develop back doors in order to give complete access to government organizations.

In order to gain access to these private and encrypted communications, U. S. Organizations sometimes require companies to develop systems that will decipher the information being transmitted. The process of developing these back doors can be time consuming and costly.

If these networks continue to comply with these requests for back doors, and they also start building back doors into all of the networks they build, it is likely that no one will be able to communicate privately over the Internet in the future. Not only that, but many critics of these Internet wiretapping policies have also pointed out the fact that the security features communication networks provide to their customers will essentially become pointless if they just give the information to any government organization that asks for it.

Customers of these communication networks are now questioning the true security of the information they send over these networks. Communication companies make promises that their information is safe and secure, but these customers know that their information can potentially be exposed to third parties no matter what.

Since consumers can no longer trust the promises their communication providers make about security, and communication companies are likely going to be facing exponentially rising costs when it comes to securing their networks and giving intercept capabilities to governments, it is likely that Internet wiretapping will be the death of Internet privacy. Luckily, consumers will always have access to freeware and other programs that are developed by people and organizations that can never truly be limited by the stringent restrictions government organizations love to place on communication channels.

The internet has taken over the world that we live in. It has become increasingly difficult to get anything done offline. When there is an interruption in internet connectivity you want to pull your hair out! But beware of the scammers and hackers who prey on the information you inadvertently give out. There are ways to surf anonymously to protect your internet privacy.

There is a lot of information that is available on the internet. There is also a lot of information that goes out form you to cyberspace. Every time that you are on your browser your computer is sending out information. Website owners have tools that they can use to identify you every time you visit their website.

What information should you be worried about giving out on the web? By far the largest concerns that people have is credit card information. We all have a friend who will not use the internet to purchase anything at all. Online credit card theft is however a rarity. Most t banks use very secure encryptions that mitigate credit card theft. It far more likely that you will loose your wallet than have your credit card details stolen online.

Back to those pesky cookies! They do not come in flavors but they are tags that a website owner will use to get information from you. Mostly it is information on other sites that you visit but scarier still information that you might have given out on those websites. That leaves the door open to abuse.

Every time that you use your browser it acquires an address from which it operates. It becomes easy for anyone with the necessary know how to decipher where you might possibly be by either your web address or your email address. This is a scary notion. Especially on the business front where a lot of personal information is sifted through a myriad sites every day!

The solution therefore is to use proxy server . Or install software that will allow you to surf anonymously to protect your internet privacy. The upshot of doing this is that no one can trace back where you are browsing from in the world or get any details from cookies.

The beauty of using a proxy is that you mask your real location and not have to worry abut sending out any inkling as to where you are on the planet.

The fact of the matter remains that there are only two critical security breaches that you should b worried about. The address and those cookies as discussed earlier. Once these two areas are comprehensively handled you can rest assured about your security.

To secure the safety of your loved ones get the software or use a proxy server to ensure that you surf anonymously to protect your internet privacy.

Protect your Internet identity by changing your IP address with an encrypted IP Changer. You need to be proactive to preserve your identity take the 1st step with a free trial of our Change IP solution.

During the early years of the internet, it was very easy to be an unknown person. There was no way anyone can get information about you. But now, there is a myriad of ways for people to grab information from your computer.

By maintaining your concealed identity online, you get to keep a lot of information to yourself. Most people try to get their privacy by deleting cookies and use other devices that track down those who want to blow their cover. Sometimes, you get a lot of emails while others even go as much as stealing your entire identity. This is why the internet has become one of the most dangerous places to be.

You can do private internet surfing when you hide your IP address. Your IP address is like your home address. If you learn how to hide your IP address by using proxy server, people will not be able to track you down. It is very difficult to track you down and other people will not be able to steal valuable information from you.

There are different proxy websites that offer services that conceals your IP address while you browse through the internet. Take this advantage in order to protect your identity and personal information.

You can also hide your personal details by means of deleting your cookies and clearing your history. Check your internet browser every now and then and regularly delete your history as well. This type of habit will be beneficial to you.

It has become a trend to people fond of using the internet to conceal their identity while using the internet. But, there are some companies who can still access your IP address through tracking and capture several information from you.

Hackers attack your computer and steal your personal information for their gain. This is why a lot of people would want to access the internet in a very subtle manner to avoid having their identities stolen.

There have been a lot of cases of identity theft in the country which is why people should begin to learn how to hide their identities over the internet.

One of the biggest worries among internet users today is spyware virus protection. There are myriads of spyware programs all over the web. Basically they monitor your browsing habits and can even steal all the passwords you enter on various sites. To make matters worse, they can also take your credit card information.

Do you see that your computer is all of a sudden slower than it used to be? Does the booting up take more time than you could ever recall it doing before? Is your computer always showing you ‘pop up’ ads even though you try to prevent it? Has your homepage changed all by itself?

It is a 90% surety that you have adware if you answered yes to all of these questions. Everybody who is browsing the net is at risk of adware. It will simply install itself onto your computer directly from a website. You do not even have to have ever downloaded and installed a program on your computer to be a victim.

Highly skilled programming gurus are today putting their talents into negative projects like making malware. These will closely monitor everything you do on your computer and then give all this delicate information to advertising companies.

The advertisers will then do anything to get your attention including sending you ‘pop up’ ads, banners and even taking control over what homepage will be on your browser.

Spyware is not to be confused with a virus. A virus unlike a spyware program will self-replicate once it has infiltrated your computer. A virus is also made to be malicious not like a spyware program although nowadays they have evolved so much that they can do the same amount of damage to your computer.

Anti-spyware software programs are your only solution to this problem. Even the inexperienced can quickly use them to restore their computers to normal.

Identity theft and credit card fraud can cost you dearly so it is better to invest in spyware virus protection.

Many people are missing the beginnings of the internet era when no one worried about online data fraud and about securing private information. Ever since then some people refined their methods of stealing others’ data over the internet. As it always happens, other people specialized in protecting theirs.

Online privacy means browsing the web without disclosing personal information about yourself, which isn’t always easy to do, since there are many simple, yet efficient, means to get other internet users’ personal data. This information can include preferences and habits, that once revealed can further be used without your consent.

One way to secure personal details is to hide your IP behind a proxy server, which acts as intermediary between your computer and other PCs, making it almost impossible for other users to get your personal data.

You can also improve your own security online if, together with choosing one of the many proxy services available, you surf the web with a browser that offers privacy features such as a private mode browsing.

Another way to shelter private information is to manage all the data that your computer is storing while you are surfing the web. Without any cookies or history of your internet activity left on your computer, there won’t be anything that other users can find out about your preferences.

The constantly increasing number of personal information retrieved over the internet and used without the owner’s authorization is also driving the number of anonymous users up. Internet users are seeking protection from IP tracking, which has become a very common method of getting one user’s personal data once his IP address has been identified.

At the same time, anonymous users protect themselves from other users hacking into their computers and illegally getting their personal data. However, others opt for privacy to shelter themselves from the consequences of breaking specific web surfing regulations.

All things considered, anonymous web browsing is an excellent solution to protect your personal data when you go online.

An integral part of an IT auditor’s work is to educate the business community on how an information technology (IT) audit adds value to an organization. To be sure, internal audit departments which usually include an IT audit component have a clear vision of their function and role within an organization. Our experience has been that the critical role played by IT auditors is not fully understood by the wider business community. It is the wise corporate executive that understands and leverages the value of the IT audit function. In this context, we wanted to publish a brief overview of the specific benefits and value added from an IT audit.

IT audits may cover a wide range of technology such as client-server systems and networks, operating systems, software applications, web services, databases, telecom infrastructure, security systems, disaster recovery planning and change management procedures.

The general structure of an audit is to identify risks, assess the design of controls and then test the effectiveness of the controls. Each of these aspects of an audit can add value when performed by skillful auditors.

The main motivation to have an IT audit function is the need for assurance and internal control. Organizations that make huge investments in technology generally need IT auditing to provide the assurance that risks are being controlled and that huge losses will not occur. An organization may determine that it has a high risk of outage, security threat or vulnerability. Regulations and compliance requirements such as the Sarbanes Oxley Act or industry specific requirements from the SEC or Federal Reserve are another main motivation to maintain an IT audit function.

Below we discuss five key areas in which IT auditors can add value to an organization. Of course, the quality and depth of a technical audit is a prerequisite to adding value. The planned scope of an audit is also critical to the value added. Without a clear mandate on what business processes and risks will be audited, it is hard to ensure success or added value.

So here are our top five ways that an IT audit adds value:

1. Reduce risk. The planning and execution of an IT audit is generally focused on identifying and assessing risks in an organization’s IT environment.

IT audits usually cover risks related to confidentiality, integrity and availability of information technology infrastructure and processes. Additional risks include effectiveness, efficiency and reliability of IT.

After risks are identified and assessed, the next step is to start reducing or mitigating the risks through controls, risk transfer (e.g. insurance) or risk acceptance (e.g. built into the business).

A critical concept here is that IT risk is business risk. Any threat to or vulnerability of critical IT operations can have a direct effect on an entire organization. In short, the organization needs to know where the risks are and then proceed to do something about them.

Auditors will generally use risk best practices such as ISACA COBIT and RiskIT frameworks (www.isaca.org) and the ISO/IEC 27002 standard ‘Code of practice for information security management’ (www.iso.org).

2. Strengthen controls (and improve security). After assessing risks as described above, controls can then be identified and assessed. Poorly designed or ineffective controls can be redesigned and/or strengthened.

The comprehensive COBIT framework consists of four high level domains covering 32 control processes that can be used to reduce IT risk. This framework covers all aspects of information security including control objectives, key goal indicators, critical success factors and key performance indicators.

An auditor can use COBIT to assess the controls in an organization and make recommendations that add real value to the IT environment and to the organization as a whole.

Another control framework is the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) model of internal controls. IT auditors can use this framework to get assurance on (1) the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, (2) the reliability of financial reporting and (3) the compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The framework contains two elements out of five that directly relate to controls – control environment and control activities.

3. Comply with regulations. Wide ranging regulations at the federal and state levels include specific requirements for information security. The IT auditor serves a critical function in ensuring that specific requirements are met, risks are assessed and controls implemented.

Sarbanes Oxley Act (Corporate and Criminal Fraud Accountability Act) requires all public companies to ensure that internal controls are adequate according to the framework of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission’s (COSO) discussed above. IT auditors provide the assurance that such requirements are met.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) has three areas of IT requirements – administrative, technical and physical. It is the IT auditor who plays a key role in ensuring compliance with these requirements.

Various industries have additional requirements such as the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard in the credit card industry e.g. Visa and Mastercard.

All of these compliance and regulatory areas require the IT auditor to play a key role. It is critical to an organization to have assurance that all requirements are met.

4. Facilitate communication between business and technology management. An audit opens channels of communication between an organization’s business and technology management. Auditors spend time interviewing, observing and testing what is happening in reality and in practice. An audit can provide valuable information in written reports and oral presentations. Senior management needs to know first-hand how their organization is functioning.

The technology professionals in an organization also need to know what senior management thinks, what their objectives are and the directions that they are going. Auditors can communicate some of this information through participation in meetings with technology management and through review of the current implementations of policies, standards and guidelines.

An important point to consider is the key role of IT auditing in management’s oversight of technology. Organizations invest in technology to support business strategy, functions and operations. Alignment between business and technology functions is very important and IT auditing is critical in maintaining this alignment.

5. Improve IT Governance. The IT Governance Institute (ITGI) provides this definition:

‘IT Governance is the responsibility of executives and board of directors, and consists of the leadership, organizational structures and processes that ensure that the enterprise’s IT sustains and extends the organization’s strategies and objectives.’

The leadership, organizational structures and processes referred to in the definition all point to IT auditors as key players. Central to IT auditing and to overall IT management is a strong understanding of the value, risks and controls around an organization’s technology environment. More specifically, IT auditors review the value, risks and controls in each of the key components of technology – applications, information, infrastructure and people.

Another perspective on IT governance consists of a framework of four key objectives which are also discussed in the IT Governance Institute’s documentation:

*IT is aligned with the business *IT enables the business and maximizes benefits *IT resources are used responsibly *IT risks are managed appropriately

IT auditors are involved in getting assurance that each of these objectives is realized. Each objective is critical to an organization and is therefore within the scope of IT auditing.

To sum up, IT auditing is extremely valuable to reduce risks, improve security, comply with regulations and facilitate communication between business and technology management. Overall IT governance is improved and strengthened through the IT audit function.

These people send spam emails which are annoying and bulky. The most awful part is that they can be very dangerous too when care is not taken when opening them.

Many people add spyware and even virus to the emails. This has therefore made it necessary to know the sender of the email or trust in the source of the email very important. If you are not sure take extra precautions to leave yourself unexposed.

These programs normally have a host of options that you can choose from in protecting your machine. However don’t go for any software as there are things that you must look for.

The first thing you want to do is to read forums and reviews to know how good a product actually is. You must also know if the program will work well with all of your email clients and create not restrictions.

Spam protection programs filter emails even before they get to your mail. They can however make some mistakes as well.

The program can keep potential and valid mails from getting to your inbox as it might treat it as a spam. There is no need for despair however as normally they are kept in a separate folder from your inbox.

If you are expecting a good email but can’t find it, you can search the spam for it. When found it can easily be transferred to the inbox.

When the Internet was first introduced into the mainstream population, people could go online and surf anonymously without much worry. That is no longer the case these days as information is captured and stolen online on a regular basis. That does not have to be the case always however, thanks to anonymous surfing technology.

Surfing the Net anonymously means that your private information stays private. Individuals and companies that use cookies and other tracking methods to harvest your personal information can use it for either malicious activities in the case of the individual or sell your personal data and habits to other companies to try to sell you products and services. When you use anonymous surfing you are putting a stop to these practices being used.

When you browse in private online, you are using the services of a proxy server that hides your IP address from unscrupulous businesses and individuals who are ready to steal your information. These servers make it possible for your browsing activity to remain hidden because all they will see when they try to capture your information is the proxy server’s address and this deters them from further information collecting activities.

There are many proxy servers to choose from that will give you the privacy you seek while online. There are also new generations Web browsers with privacy features built in but they are not as trustworthy as a proxy server.

There are things that you can do right on your computer to ensure your own privacy while surfing and that is to delete any cookies that have been added to your computer and to wipe your cache clean of any information contained in it. You can also clear your browsing history after each surfing session. Doing these things can eliminate the possibility of having your information leak out across the Net.

Tracking and attacking can compromise your privacy online and using anonymous surfing can prevent these things from happening to you. Tracking is utilizing your IP address to trace what you are doing and where you are going online.

Attacking methods are used by computer hackers who will hack into your computer system and steal personal and relevant information that they can use against you. Some areas of the country use restrictive methods for Internet browsing that protects their customers from such events as these.

No matter why you may want to surf in the Web in private, using these private browsing methods will help to maintain your safety online.
