If we lived in a world where all that is necessary to purchase a product, or pass through a security checkpoint, is a card to verify your identity, the flow of everyday activities would be much smoother. Today, we actually do live in a world that is similar to this scenario. In fact, biometric controls have seamlessly integrated into legacy card reader systems and have become part of our normal routine too.

Any type of system that currently requires a card for the system to operate will likely convert to biometric security features to enhance the security of the process.

In the future, you may be able to ensure that your house is safe by using only your fingerprint. With this type of system installed in your home, you would never face locking yourself out of your own home. This is great, because keys will be entirely eliminated from the process of security. This leaves virtually no security loopholes that can be used to break into a home.

Soon fingerprints will be the only necessary requirement for an employee to enter a building, punch into a payroll system, gain access to secure areas, or access protected inventory. There are many different applications this technology will be incredibly useful for too.

Financial sectors will see great increases in security as well. This security not only helps companies in this sector, but it helps patrons of the industry too. When a customer goes to a store, they will have easy access to all of their information and money to purchase anything they want.

People will never be denied access to the information that they rightly have ownership to with biometric controls integration into legacy card reader systems. Along with this incredible benefit, no one will ever be given access to an account or information they are not the rightful owner of.

Just imagine a world where you only have to press your finger on a scanner to identify yourself for building access, time and attendance, and equipment automation. This is the reality we live in as fingerprint readers will work with legacy proximity card systems that are weigand compatible.
