When talking about computer Optimization, there is a lot of information available. This information will tell you that your computer needs improvement in performance and efficiency. Is it true? Does your computer really need it?

Absolutely! Many people don’t know that there are many weak areas in Windows operating system. Some of them include:

-Registry

-Hardware Management

-Internet connection

Windows internal database are full of registries. From hardware and drivers information to applications’ settings. After you remove any device, such as a printer or video card, pieces of that info are still there. One of the biggest problems people don’t think about is when you uninstall a program. Unfortunately many apps don’t uninstall all the information on removal. One solution to this problem is to run “regedit” and manually search and erase all the references to that program. But this is dangerous and that is why I recommend using a software program.

When I say hardware management I am talking about memory and hard-disk management. Each program uses some part of your computer’s memory. Memory allocation is determined by how much room a program will take and what resource is available. Once the application stops, that used portion of memory should be available. However this doesn’t always happen. So when a new program requests the memory it needs to run, it will slow down your computer since it has to compete with the other sources for the remaining resources.

This also happens when you remove files from your computer. They aren’t actually erased. They will remain on your hard-disk while affecting the other files you want to read or write. This is the same idea as above regarding memory usage. To avoid this, once a month you should use a hard-disk defragmenter to clean the remaining pieces of information that still remain.

Your internet connection. So many people use the internet. And internet speed has become extremely important. By speed, I mean download speed. How long it takes your computer to browse the internet. When browsing a website, by default, your computer will create a channel with the site’s server and begin downloading it. Download speed will be determined by you internet subscription but something else affects it too. The connection channel may be single or multi threaded. By default that channel will be single threaded. Your computer should break the download file into several smaller parts and create a download channel for each. Once they are all downloaded, it should rebuild the source. That is what the download accelerators do.

Is computer optimization so important? No question, yes! You have many options free of charge. But registry errors are the one thing I would not try to fix on my own. You can buy an inexpensive program that is very worth your time and money to fix the errors.
