Spyware

In this busy world people prefer to do Internet shopping, banking or browsing through the net for some information they needed since they do not have time for going out and do these things. But one should keep in mind that while browsing through the net some hackers may be trying to intercept or monitor your personal information. Even the hackers can get your personal information later on from your computer. To guard your Internet privacy some software like Mil Shield is available, which cleans all the off line and online traces automatically from your computer.

This type of software will protect your Internet privacy from the hackers. Since the operating system and application software have lots of security loopholes, the hackers can access your computer through these loopholes. When you browse through the net the Internet Explorer will leave some traces like Internet history, cookies, Internet cache and pass words. If the hacker manages to get access to these traces not only he will be able to get all your records of web surfing but also to the activities not related to Internet.

You can only delete some of the traces but not all of them (refer article Delete Index.dat files for information related to hard to erase traces). Since there is no centralized or automate process available to clean the traces, it is a difficult procedure. But some of the traces are good for your net surfing experience. For example Inter cache will help speed up your web surfing and cookies can protect you from entering your personal information again and again. Internet history will help you to type the addresses of the web site easily.

When you enter personal information at a website, there is not a straight line from point A to point B. Your information actually gets routed through many different switches and computers. How is your information protected if it goes so many places? A Secure Socket Layer, or SSL, encrypts your information and then decrypts it when it gets to its final destination. This means you need to make sure a website uses an SSL before you enter your information, but how?

Look at the internet address on your browser before you enter information. What does it look like? If the address starts like https: instead of http: it is using SSL. Of other pages in a website that using SSL may not be protected because it is unnecessary. Only the place your information is entered needs protected.

With SSL protection, your information is safe from interceptors, and it decodes your information in the safety of a secure connection. How do you know the website you are shopping at is legit?

When you do online shopping and when you want to order any product, you need to submit your personal information and credit card information to the online store. If the store is genuine, its server will automatically send you an electronic ID card i.e the electronic certificate issued to the online store by an authorized certificate authority. Along with the certificate, it will issue a cryptographic code that is used for encoding and decoding the communication with the online store. Once your server approves the certificate, it will encode all the personal information before it is sent to any web site.
