Spyware

Today a lot of people that use the internet get their computer infected by a fake antivirus, If you do you will need virus removal performed on your computer. I am going to provide some information that can help you avoid this virus and the aggravation it causes. Fake antivirus can get on your computer a number of ways, sometimes from a website that has been hacked, or from a link in your email and when you click it you get sent to a website that has a popup window that looks like a real virus alert. When you are visiting a site and you see a popup that looks like a real virus warning but it is not from your antivirus that you have installed on your computer then DONT CLICK ON IT it is a virus! This can come from any website.

If you click on the popup window you may install the virus onto the computer and you will continue to get these pop ups until the virus removal is performed to remove it. Most of the time the fake antivirus will ask you to purchase the fake software using your credit card. DO NOT do it. Avoid clicking on the popup to try to close it, instead look at the task bar at the bottom of your screen.

If you are using internet explorer or fire fox then you will see a little box in the task bar related to their windows, right click on it and click on close untill all of your internet explorer windows or fire fox are closed… then restart your computer.

If your PC seems to get locked up or you’re not able to close out the popup window that way then click the start button in on your screen and shut down the computer completely. If you cannot click the start button for some reason then you will need to shut down the computer off by holding in the power button for about 15-30 seconds, eventually it will shut down.

Once it is shut down wait a few minutes and restart the computer, If you don’t have any pop ups after that then you may still be safe, you should perform a full virus scan ASAP.

Always check to make sure your antivirus software is up to date before you perform a scan. If you are not able to get your antivirus software to work then it is possible that you are infected with a virus, you will need to have the system looked at.

Avoid clicking on any popup warnings about a virus infection at all cost, unless it is from your own antivirus software. If you are not sure follow the steps above and I hope that will help you out.
